IPL is a modern technology which uses a flash lamp to produce high intensity pulses of light. The energy of light is specifically targeted, by its wavelength or colour – to such problem areas as broken capillaries, abnormal pigmentation, or hair follicles. The light energy heats up this target, and destroys it, without damaging the surrounding normal tissue.
Skin Rejuvenation
Our highly experienced IPL technician can treat a variety of skin conditions. With the use of IPL technology, dramatic improvements through skin rejuvenation can now be accomplished with little or no downtime and with minimal discomfort.
The IPL skin rejuvenation is ideal for any part of the face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or solar lentigines (light brown spots).
During the IPL treatment the top layer of the skin is treated with pulses of light. A portion of the epidermis (superficial layer of skin) is gently removed. After 3-4 days the treated surface peels off to reveal new, healthy, vibrant skin underneath. The laser replaces the sun-damaged superficial layer of skin with new healthy skin. Simultaneously it sends heat to deeper layers of the skin stimulating new collagen growth, filling out and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. New collagen growth continues for 4-6 weeks. The combination of a new skin layer and decreased wrinkles results in a healthier, more youthful appearance. Typically only 1-2 treatments are necessary to renew your skin.

Permanent hair reduction
Permanent hair reduction is achieved by pulses of intense light being directed into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, converting to heat, which in turn disables the hair growth cells.
Most areas require 3-6 treatments. However, the number of treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on multiple factors – hair thickness, the area treated and your hair’s growth cycle.
